Dear Junichi,

I was very heartened to receive your message and your sincere attitude toward helping people in need. You can tell your friends and parents and teachers how you feel about the surplus rice in Japan piling up to be rotten while people who are starving in a neighboring country might be able to survive if they could be given some of it; you can also collect 100 yen from each of your classmates and donate it toward the purchase of rice or corn for those who are hungry, and you could continue to be a diligent student so that you will someday be an important person with the power to live out your ideas and help to create a better world. Don't abandon your dreams and principles.

All the best,

Bernard Krisher
