Dear Peter,
I was very moved by your letter and I am certain you are going to grow up to be an excellent person. For the moment the only thing we can do is to try urgently to ship food, medical drugs and equipment over there. There are several agencies which are collecting funds (WFP, UNICEF, etc.) for this purpose. I am also collecting funds and personally purchase, deliver and/or have reliable persons in Pyongyang monitor our donations and report the result on our Home Page. It is not important how much collect, but the act itself is noble. If you want to start by collecting $1 each from children and $5 from adults for this purpose, your contributions will be noted on our Home page and the result provided to you once we purchase and deliver food and drugs from the proceeds of your and others' donations. The contributions can be mailed by check to me.
Best regards and bless your heart,
Bernie Krisher

>Hello,
>My name is Peter Kang and I'm a 14 year old Korean American from New Jersey.
BBeing a Korean myself, I am very concerned about the famine in North Korea but can do no more than pray. I want to help out also and searching over the net, I saw your page and i thought i could help out. I was thinking about setting up my own site so that people could donate money, but i have insufficent information as to where the money should go and how it can be effectively used towards helping the North Koreans. I still have a few weeks of summer vacation left and i'm regretful that i didn't think about helping this cause earlier, but i still believe i can make a little difference by helping out. Please let me know what i can do to help raise donations or spread the word about helping North Korea. Though I was born in South Korea, i do have the same emotional feelings towards the suffering of North Koreans.
II have some things that may help your efforts and you may see what i can do by visiting http://www.goldstuff.com, which is a site i made. I'm hoping to have a section about North Korea up, but that where you come in. If you can help me and tell me things i can do to help, i'll appreciate it. Instead of working at a local hospital or nursing home for community service the last few weeks of vacation, i am willing to devote myself to helping out my fellow Koreans. Please write back and tell me what i can do to help - it will mean a lot to me.
>Thank You,
