Date: Fri, 3 Oct 1997 04:17:26 -0400 (EDT) October 2, 1997 Dear Mr.Krisher, There was a play written by a Korean girl in Japan. The story starts with a telephone call from a daughter to her long departed mother telling that her youngest sister commited a suicide. The death of the young girl gives an oppotunity for each of her familiy members to gather who scattered for years by divorce, resentment and distrust. When all members finally get together for the funeral, they start recalling the old days when they had happiness together. By the time, they realize that the purpose of the suicide was to gather the family. Your site gather like-mided people together. I believe we need it. I have a news for you. Six Korean students in University of Florida got together today with two objectives. First, to publicize the issue to people in Gainesville(the city where we are now) and second, to start a donation drive during this month, October. We are going to find more people willing to help. We hope we can finally contribute to forming a public opinion for an immediate U.S. aid to N.Korea. My intention for a U.S. aid is based on NGOs claim that the needs is beyond private donation. I I have my own webpage for the campaign. Would you have a look? http://grove.ufl.edu/~minsung. Best wishes and love, Minsung Chun.
October 4, 1997 Dear Minsung Chun, Thank you for your lovely letter and warm thoughts for the suffering people in North Korea. I am starting a new campaign to collect donations which will go toward the purchase of food and drugs, mainly targeted for children. I hope to distribute these again personally in North Korea in one or two months. If you would like to coordinate your campaign and consolidate it with the donations coming to me, please let me know. The names of all donors will appear on our Home page, be transmiited to the people in North Korea and the purchase and distribution of the food and medicines will be transparent on our Home Page, as well. Good luck in your campaign. Best regards, Bernard Krisher
